Induction video production case study - Sheffield Cable Waterski
Sheffield Cable Waterski is situated in the
Rother Valley Country Park and provides an environmentally sound way to
enjoy waterskiing and wakeboarding without the use of a boat. Like any
sport involving water though, there are dangers, and all clients must be
made aware of these. Each new client must be given a safety and induction
briefing before using the cable water-ski machine. This duty is given to
the operational staff and can become extremely time consuming and
obviously puts a strain on staffing resources.
To overcome this problem, Reel 9 media were commissioned to produce an
induction & safety video production that could replace the need for staff
to deliver the information. The client could then be briefed by watching
the video production and signing a disclaimer to agree that all safety
information has been observed.
The production script was generated by recording a safety briefing by the
cable water-ski staff. We then broke the information down into sections
such as machine operation, techniques required, and obviously all the
safety procedures. The images required were then shot and edited to DVD.
